Gliding snowshoes or fur-based skis are wider and shorter skis with a fur base, which combine the qualities of traditional forest skis and snow shoes. Due to their large surface area, the gliding snowshoes make free movement in powdery snow possible, easily keeping you afloat the sinking snow. Compared to regular snowshoes, gliding snowshoes are easier to move with due to their ability to actually ski.
Gliding snowshoes enable you to move in places where traditional forest skis are not as easy to move. These kind of places are, for example, snowy forests, hills and places where nature has taken more hold.
Snow gliding is easy and recreational activity for a family
Skiing with gliding snowshoes is easy! You only need regular winter boots and warm clothing. No need for special bindings or shoes, the gliding snowshoes are fitted with bindings to your regular winter boots.

Short fur-based skis make possible for speedy travel and downhill skiing. They make an excellent choice for winter trekking, hunting or universal outdoors recreation. The fur base gives good traction when going uphill and slows down nicely in a downhill slope.
Rental includes Peltonen Metsä skiing poles (125-160cm) or Viking Teho telescopic skiing poles (110-145cm)

Excellent skis for beginners
OAC Kar 147 snowgliding shoes are fitted with OAC EA bindings. Its good length and hourglass shape allows for speedy travel in forest and provides excellent maneuverability. Length: 147cm, Width from the tip: 125mm, waist: 110mm and base 122mm. Maneuverability is good also in downhill slopes.
OAC Kar 147 is excellent due to its fur based design. The fur base slows you down in downhill slopes and gives good traction when climbing hills.

OAC XCD GT 160
Gliding snowshoe for varying conditions
OAC XCD GT 160 fur-base ski is fitted OAC EA 2.0 bindings. It is quality made hybrid of forest skis, telemark skis and gliding snowshoes. Its length and hourglass shape boasts excellent maneuverability even in difficult, uphill snow. Length: 160 cm, width from the tip: 116 mm, waist: 86 mm and base 110 mm.
Maneuverability with these skis is better compared to wider gliding snowshoes such as OAC Kar 147. The skis glide somewhat better, allowing the skier to to travel with less effort. OAC XCD GT are excellent skis due to their fur skin base. Mohair-mix fur slows you down nicely in a downward slope and gives traction when going uphill. The hybrid XCD GT 160 is an excellent choice for either a day trip or longer trip to mountains or forests.
