The design prioritizes ease of use. The tent can even be used as an open shelter without the door section, and inside, a stove provides warmth for winter expeditions.
In winter, the tent can be fully sealed by closing all ventilation openings, keeping it warm and dry. In summer, it can function as an open shelter, providing protection from wind and rain. Savotta has made excellent material choices for the Hawu 8. The tent is made from a fire-resistant specialty fabric with exceptional properties. The tent fabric breathes, is sufficiently waterproof and does not require an additional rain cover. The stove can safely burn even crackling spruce wood, as sparks pose minimal risk to the tent material. The fabric is also mold-resistant.

We rent Hawu 8 tents in Oulu and the surrounding areas. IF you’re traveling to Lapland, you can conveniently pick up a Hawu 8 for your trip. The tent can be used year-round, though we recommend adding a stove in spring, fall, and winter. The tent has a pre-installed chimney opening for easy stove use.
The Savotta Hawu 8 consists of a door section and a wall section, which can be easily connected using a secure clasp and a sturdy zipper. The tent frame is supported by a strong yet lightweight center pole.

The tent is easy to set up. It does not require separate corner poles, as the design of the tent skirt keeps it upright. If desired, the tent can also be set up around a tree trunk or suspended from a branch. The tent is secured to the ground with sturdy stakes, and the fabric is easily tensioned into shape using adjustable straps. A groundsheet is included to provide insulation from the cold ground.
The lightweight Savotta Hawu wood stove and roll-up chimney are easy to install inside the tent. The chimney comes with protective gloves, ensuring safe handling of the thin metal sheet.
In winter, snow can be packed onto the tent’s snow skirts, preventing the wind from disturbing the tent.
